Panel discussion during the 10. PLANETE + DOC FILM FESTIVAL in Wroclaw

The panel discussion, organised by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, Warsaw office, and Greenpeace Poland, with the title “Czy ludzkosc przetrwa bez lodowcow?” (Will humans survive without glaciers?) is going to take place following the screening of the film “Chasing Ice” directed by Jeff Orlowski. It is part of the 10. PLANETE + DOC FILM FESTIVAL that is going to take place in Warsaw and WrocÅ‚aw.

I am going to present the scientific foundations of climate change as well as German achievements in the field of climate policy.

Presentation during the conference “Photovoltaics for everybody” and panel discussion

The conference “Fotowoltaika dla kazdego” [Photovoltaics for everybody] is going to take place on 14 May in Poznan during the International Renewable Energy Fair Greenpower 2013.

I am going also to take part in the panel discussion, that is organised after the conference and present there the German support policy for photovoltaics, its changes and challenges.

I have been offered a position as Assistant Professor in the Institute of Political Science, University of Wroclaw, Poland

I have just been offered a position as Assistant Professor in the Institute of Political Science, Chair of Political Systems and Administration (initially), University of Wroclaw, Poland. I will try to set up a Chair of Public Policy (environment, energy, health etc.) there, so keep your fingers crossed. I will start this exciting job in the next semester but already invite everybody to cooperation.

Niemiecka polityka wsparcia PV – zmiany i wyzwania

W ciagu ostatniej dekady Niemcy staly sie swiatowym liderem we wspieraniu i rozwoju fotowoltaiki. Niemal polowa (45%) swiatowej mocy w fotowoltaice zainstalowana jest obecnie w Niemczech (25 GW). Od czasu przyjecia ustawy o odnawialnych zrodlach energii Erneuerbaren-Energien-Gesetz (EEG) w 2000 r. oraz jej nowelizacji w 2004 r. w Niemczech mozna bylo zaobserwowac znaczacy rozwoj wykorzystania fotowoltaiki w celu pokrycia zapotrzebowania na energie elektryczna. W tym czasie obnizyly sie koszty przetworzenia energii slonca w energie elektryczna. Podczas gdy w 2000 r. taryfa stala dla fotowoltaiki PV wynosila 50 ct/kWh, obecnie w wielu regionach Niemiec, po wprowadzeniu ostatnich modyfikacji w EEG, taryfa ta jest nizsza niz cena detaliczna energii elektrycznej. Tym samym jeden z najbardziej istotnych celow EEG, czyli redukcja kosztow produkcji energii z OZE, zostal w odniesieniu do PV osiagniety.
